    What I did last Monday…

                                     WATCH THE THRONE

Just to start with, I must say the concert was amazing!

I got there around 6.30, the queue wasn’t ridiculously long as most people were chilling in bars and restaurants at the O2 arena. We hip hop crew are cool like that ;)

The doors opened at 6.45pm and so we began to file in. Upon entering, everyone dispersed to the different levels they had booked their sits for; and once again we had to wait for a bit as the area wasn’t quite ready for us to go in. About 20 minutes later we went in and found our sits. I must say: the sitting map I had used to book the sits were very misleading as they made me to believe we would be quite elevated from the stage than was actually the case when we got there. Anyway, I was at the second row in my area although it was quite far back from the stage (but close to the podium where Kanye performed from)

The concert began pronto around 8.30pm which wasn’t too bad; considering how other artists take their time in making an appearance.

Jay Z was on the main stage, while Kanye busted out from a different podium at the back which was very unexpected. Their presence was greeted with cheers and screams from everyone, mine included!

They opened the show with H.A.M. Incredible isn’t even the word. All I can say for sure is that I do not regret spending every £67 of my money on that concert! They performed most songs from their titled album Watch the throne; including illest motherfucker alive, New day, Welcome to the jungle, No church in the wild, Who gon stop me, Prime time and of course Niggas in paris which they used to close the show. They encored that about 5 times as the audience couldn’t get enough and didn’t want the show to end. Might I add that I was very impressed by the graphics and presentation that followed each song; as it was blatantly obvious that a lot of thought had gone into the performance of each individual song as the graphics matched them so well. It wasn’t just about the singing or rapping, it was the whole shibang!

Solo material from both camps was also performed. I must be an endearing Kanye fan as I enjoyed his singles best. Old singles like Jesus walks was performed. That took me to way back when Kanye came on the scene. It was magnifique! Also classics like Gold digger was also met with screams from adoring fans. Jayz also did his thing like On to the next one.

They really do complement each other and are well matched. But for me Kanye does the trick.

They were on for about 2 hours plus, as I recall leaving the arena around 11pm or thereabouts.

What I am trying to say is that if watch the throne is ever hosting a concert nearby wherever you maybe, you absolutely don’t wanna miss it!

How much does Saudi Arabia hate women? So much so that 15 girls died in a school fire in Mecca in 2002, after “morality police” barred them from fleeing the burning building — and kept firefighters from rescuing them — because the girls were not wearing headscarves and cloaks required in public. And nothing happened. No one was put on trial. Parents were silenced.
